We were pleasantly surprised to have gotten a table at lunch time on a Sunday as most pubs are always booked up. We sat near the door next to the log fire which was idyllic considering the pouring rain outside. The pub has a lovely, friendly vibe (not least because it is dog friendly which was the best thing ever for me! , and the food was possibly the best food I've had at a pub to date. My husband had liver and mash, I had fish pie and veggies beautiful, tasty, comforting home cooked food, in a beautiful and comfortable surrounding. The LBJ has rocketed to my number 1 favourite pub! :
on Sunday the lbj visited the early evening. eating was excellent, the best frying dinner I ever tasted in a pub restaurant! the vegetables were cooked to perfection. the service was also good with the managers who wait for the tables and at the bar that give the whole culinary experience the personal note. I can't wait to visit again. well done to all employees.
Awful women behind that bar was rude and accused us of lying, our food was served by a random person as there was no available to bring the food to our table worst service I’ve ever experienced. Overpriced for average pub food when there’s so many nice places to eat in the local area. AVOID Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
We are in the area on a little getaway, and this place was recommended. Ot was a move little pub. The staff were really friendly and the food was good. Would definitely like to see it when it's busier. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

This is a lovely pub with great staff and lovely food. The staff are very pleasant and cant do enough to make your visit great. Definitely in our eyes the best pub in the area.
Very good food, lovely service. The portion are huge and the food so tasty. Everybody loved it. Such a beautiful place....perfect for a cold Sunday!
Little brown jug is a lovely place to have a great meal .smashing old world surroundings Staff all helpfull and food excellent.
