I later wrote a review on Facebook and was contacted to call the restaurant. Instead of receiving a genuine apology, the manager expressed her displeasure at my negative review, accusing me of wanting a freebie and implying that my review was a waste of time and energy. She attributed her short temper to the hot weather and blamed me for making her wait for the hot chocolates. I am deeply disappointed by the manager's behavior and handling of the situation. I cannot understand what I did wrong, as I have always paid for my meals, cleaned up after myself, and never caused any issues in restaurants before. Lovely little spot on the river Medway, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks were great, even with my intolerances, they were able to cater for me. Beautiful little walk along the river too, stopped off on the way there and back for refreshments, I’ll definitely be returning
This restaurant has a beautiful venue with a newly added patio area featuring tables and covering for outdoor dining experiences. Everything about this place is lovable, from the exceptional owner to the comfortable chairs, fair prices, and delicious food and drinks.
Travelled from Rochester to the cafe only to find no parking when we got there so had to leave very disappointed. Looked very nice and appeared busy however unable to park, didn’t see any parking areas or disabled parking spaces .
A beautiful walk from carpark (8 min walk). You can sit under the canopy and enjoy a lovely river view whilst drinking your choice of hot/cold beverage and snacks aplenty. Extremely popular kiosk at competitive prices.
What a wonderful quaint place if you are out for a walk this has got to be on your coffee/tea break list it’s beautiful staff are super friendly and the coffee was lovely. I had a muffin as well and it was delicious xx
What a gem. The coffee was delicious, the vegan options were fantastic, and the flapjack was probably the best I've ever had. They even gave a pup cup to the dog. The setting was beautiful and the staff was friendly.
One of the best kept secrets in Maidstone. Sunny day next to the lock with their awesome chocolate milkshake. Dog friendly too. And if you’re lucky the deck chairs will be out. Service always great too
Wonderful, friendly, speedy service as ever. Tasty coffee, lovely, clean tables and peaceful river views. Carpark 10 min walk, gorgeous river walks nearby.
