I had noticed this cafe at the Bowden Railway station as my train rumbled past on the way to the city.So made up my mind to visit it one day.That day was yesterday, and while it is a very pleasant venue, sadly I can not say the same for the serviceI ordered Cauliflower salad, which was very nice, although the lettuce was a bit gritty.I do believe that the food in general is quite nice there, and it is very trendy.But it would be nice if the waitress could learn how to smile, and do more than just coldly (and efficiently) doing her job.I asked some questions, and had very sparse answers.I was on my own, and there were only two other diners there....They advertise their (on tap) sparkling spri...
Have come here a few times now and I always get great service and awesome food. It's usually very busy but we came on a Monday for brunch and it was busy but not over the top with a line up. Coffee is great and I had the gingerbread waffles, damn delicious ( refer to photo- I also included a photo of the smashed avocado). Highly recommended. They take bookings. And if you're luck enough you can be seated where you can watch the trains whiz by. During weekends I recommend coming before 10am.
Came here on a whim for brunch one weekend. Was not disappointed! I had the gingerbread pikelets, very beautifully presented with a great mix of flavours. Our other dish was the chilli scrambled eggs, had a slight curry taste and wasnt overly spicy. This was with a side of chorizo, which was very tasty. We are normally regular customers at Loose Caboose but in the last 2 months the vibe has changed not as friendly and only a couple sweet options. It's disappointing to see the Nutella French toast is off the menu, hoping that is bought back as that was the main reason my friends and I would go there. There's hardly any sweet options these days so it cuts down a huge market of potential customers. Hoping it picks back up to what it used to be!
Well like a lot of these "it" places for Sunday brunch, you have to queue to get a table. The wait wasn't so bad and at least there were chairs to sit on. Service was a bit slow and the food was colder than it should have been on arrival - the installation an/or use of heat lamps in the kitchen may help here. Overall a pleasant experience and a good place for people watching.
Simple menu, but a great variety. B n E on a brioche bun with bacon jam. Bacon fixes everything. Very good price and cheery staff (especially the Welsh Chef).Cosy atmosphere in an old railway station, with the trains quietly rumbling by. Worth a visit if you are down that way.
