Like others have noted, don’t be put off by the location. This is a great little restaurant. We had the fish of the day, sea bass, that was perfectly prepared. We also hod the Uig Bay lagostines that we’re delicious. The owner is the chef and sometimes the waitress. The kitchen is open and you’ll see you meal being prepared. Worth the trip up the hill to get away from the city center crowds and wait.
This restaurant is a hidden treasure. We were a bit hesitant about the exterior as we walked from our Airbnb, but once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was incredible, with options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Don't be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone and give this place a try.
Good food, good value. Would definately recommend. Message to owner: having a 3rd member of staff on would more than pay for itself: customers would be served quicker so more customers per night. We waited a long time for our food. In the ~2 hours we were there 14 customers were turned away as there was no space.
very nice little restaurant. service was good and eating was good. we had the venison burger who was excellent and the Lamb tagine that was also good. if the Couscous share was a little more, I would even be happier would definitely recommend the place. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Don't let the fact that it's next to a funeral director's office or the calm atmosphere deter you. Despite the busy kitchen, the Market Place near Portree is a hidden gem. I highly recommend trying the seafood cellar and the salmon.
We were thrilled to discover this restaurant with delicious seafood. We ordered the seafood platter and grilled catch of the day, which was ample for two hungry diners. Highly recommend this spot!
Disregarding the location and funeral directors next door, it is a wonderful place to eat! 5 stars well deserved.
