We had a wonderful dining experience at The Mill last night! The food and service were exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff. We were excited to try the new menu, and it did not disappoint! There were plenty of delicious options to choose from, making it difficult to decide. We decided to share a cheesy flatbread and a pork and apple sausage roll, both of which were delicious. The sausage roll was a standout. The steak burger was cooked perfectly, and my friends enjoyed the halloumi kebabs. The restaurant was charming, inviting, and tastefully decorated, with clean facilities. The staff were friendly and attentive. The appetizers were delicious, particularly the Duck Lollipops and the chilli beef nachos that my husband enjoyed (which were a special). The Peach plum crumble was also very tasty. However, the main dishes were a disappointment. My husband's burger, while visually appealing, was made up of two thin overcooked patties. My Salmon in coriander cream sauce was also overcooked and lacked the flavor of coriander. We booked for a family of 7 to celebrate a birthday. Requested a nice table which we got lovely place and menu extensive. Kids meals were excellent fish and chips excellent the rest had roast of the day belly pork) pork was more fat i know its a fatty cut) which I think could have been cooked longer and crackling was inedible. It all tasted good but there was a lack of seasonal veg 1 roast bit of mash one parsnip and 3 little slices of carrot. We ordered deserts which were great. Took 45 mins for the mains to come after ordering a further 45 mins for desert a busy Sunday i know but it was a long wait
18 of us recently came here for a special birthday celebration. We had our own private lounge over looking the Lancaster canal. The restaurant has a wide selection of drinks behind the bar including many local gins ales. The staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. The food was presented well, piping hot and most importantly tasted fantastic. Every one of our party enjoyed their meals. We look forward to returning for our next family get together.

When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. The halloumi kebab, which cost £18, only had a few pieces of halloumi and peppers that seemed to be from a jar. The fish was oven-baked instead of fried, and the veggie wrap had a limited amount of vegetables in it.
We used to enjoy dining at this restaurant, but after this experience, we are hesitant to return.
We stopped for 1 night on our way south from Scotland. Cauliflower and pea arancini, leek risotto both excellent. Service very quick and friendly. Lovely ambience. Room clean and comfortable, everything you need for a 1 night stay. A bit small for a longer holiday. No fridge. (No aircon, didn't affect us, might have done in hot weather.
This was our first visit. We booked for a birthday celebration. The food was lovely. Drinks were nice. The restaurant is in a lovely location and has great views. Our visit was let down by the service we received.
Nice spot by the canal, we had the prawn mayonnaise sandwiches sat in the bar on a comfy sofa as it was so hot outside in the beer garden even in the shade. Enjoyed the well filled sandwiches.

We were taken here by a friend we were visiting after many years so we a lot to catch up on. The food was first class served by lovely wait staff.
A fabulous room, friendly staff; great evening meal breakfast. Lovely rural location alongside a canal lock. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!
