Why didn't I come here months ago??? Truly spectacular food and service here at the Moody Chef in St Leonards. Pancakes are so soft and fluffy, miso roasted pumpkin is to die for and kipfler potatoes are seasoned to perfection. Came as a guest. A popular cafe in St Leonards and plenty of people having take away coffees. Also a few takeaway options ready to go! I usually don’t order salad because I don’t get full on it but this place is a exception. It’s mix and match your own salad but there is enough there options to try something else in future. What I was impressed with is the chicken blue cheese burger. Yes the blue cheese is the strongest taste but despite this you can still taste the other ingredients! My pick if you want try something different and delicious
We went to visit The Moody Chef on a Saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety in their menu and the friendliest customer service ever It was hard to choose what we wanted but we ended up trying the wagyu with chilli onion and the chargrill chimichurri chicken burger along with the slow cooked beef brisket Everything was incredibly delicious and great portion sizes as well! We also enjoyed some refreshing juices, smoothies and a perfectly brewed flat white that were next level Can’t wait to go back!
A bustling cafe in midst of the high rises of St Leonards. Being Saturday, the surrounding area with all the offices was almost dead quiet. The cafe was pretty busy, so service was some what patchy. The food though was amazing. I had the 4 hours slow cook beef brisket. It was tender saucy with many layers. Eggs, greens, polenta, mushrooms, all of it was delicious. The coffee was pretty good too, just took a while to get it.

Everything about this cafe is quality. The service is friendly and efficient. The menu is creative and extensive. The food and coffee is amazing. I had the corn fritters with crispy bacon and Haloumi with their relish. Every mouthful was divine. If you're a cafe connoisseur, this is a must. Thank you for the experience and I'll definitely be back.
I never know that St Leonards have a nice place to eat like Moody Chef!! even the name is ‘moody’ but i think the Chef’s mood is always good! hahaha because the food is always great! This is my first time visited this place, but my friend told me that Moody Chef is a nice cafe to breakfast or brunch! I’n so satisfied with the food and drinks!
Great food, friendly staff, good service and lovely decor with hanging greenery and artwork. Chef is definitely not moody in demeanour, but in name only. Had breakfast on a Saturday with a friend, sharing a few delights with the Strawberry Rhubarb Pancakes the standout for this sweet toother.

Elated with my experience at the Moody Chef! Not only was the food absolutely delicious! The coffee (and coffee art! was fabulous and the atmosphere is perfect for a brunch or even a meeting with colleagues.Genuinely loved my time at the cafe and will be coming back soon!
The best sandwiches in St Leonards! Can’t go wrong with whatever you choose to eat here! Do not miss out on the sweet potato fries; best I’ve ever had! George makes the best coffee too!
