Not bad, not great either. Their legendary steak pie isn 't something to write home about. The gravy was strong in taste, which I liked, but the meat as well as the lid were dry. And isn 't it weird that the dish is a good 60-70% chips? They were good, though. Also, why give single travelers the worst table in the whole place? Facing a wall, directly next to the entrance to the ladies ' toilet. There were several nicer tables for two available from my entrance until my departure. One was literally standing just next to me.
Delicious Deuchars. Proudly served me a pint of Deuchars IPA which was short (despite a requested top-up), flat and sour. Told me that it's not a lager that they'd changed the cask the night before, that they'd been serving it all day without complaints and that an earlier drinker had commended them on its quality. Refund and exchange refused.
was a firm favorit for a long time since the room is so good for small children, but was really disappointed last couple of times with the taste of the steak pipe (which was quite bland) and also on our last visit was the waitress really very unpleasant limit at the rude. so a shame.
The best place I’ve visited while here in Edinburgh. Nice, quiet vibes and perfect for a spontaneous lunch. The steak pie was amazing and so were the chips. The people working were so lovely and I will be coming back if I am ever back in Edinburgh. I highly recommend, 10/10

We had a great time in The Orchard. The food was good and the service professional. I liked the atmosphere of the place, cozy, old and new at the same time. The staff was kind and chatty. I'd like to return to this restaurant for another meal and cask ale. Bye
Great pub food provided in great surroundings. Looked like a good range of beer on tap. Cocktails and wine too. We walked up to get a table without booking but imagine it gets it visitors and regulars. Close to the Botanical Gardens too.
comfortable, friendly and a stone's throw away from the botanical gardens, the orchard was a welcome look after a long morning walk. had enjoyed the suppe of the day, which was very good and an ice cold refreshment drink.
quite standard looking pub from outside, but one that has a pretty good menu with something for everyone. never disappointed when we had dinner here. family and friends are regularly here for a bite to eat.

amazing service! I still think of the wonderful bark cheek and mae meal. the sticky toe was dessert to die. and the deep-fried haggis is simply vulnerable. highly recommended!
