The Pineapple Pub Thai Kitchen

Set in a residential back street about five minutes walk from Kentish Town Station, the Pineapple is an old pub retaining many original features. Approaching along the street, the first thing you notice is an old window advertising Double Diamond, a much maligned beer of yesteryear. Then inside there is an old Bass mirror, an original fireplace and, star of the show, a magnificent mirrored bar back. It 's certainly not a very smart or neat and tidy place but that 's not a problem this just adds to the character of the pub. My recent visit to this pub with family and friends was disappointing. One member of our group has a peanut and cashew nut allergy, so I called ahead to confirm that they could accommodate allergy sufferers. Despite being reassured initially, upon arrival we were told there may be cross contamination. This made us uneasy, especially after noticing the chef using the same pans and handling ingredients from various sources with his hands. Unfortunately, the allergic individual in our party quickly experienced a reaction to the food and had to stop eating. I visited this restaurant on the weekend with my family, the first time we had seen each other in a year. There were 9 of us and we wanted to sit outside. We didn't mind sitting separately and we informed the bartender of this. However, he got upset and made a remark to his colleague. We were just there for a drink and didn't mean to offend him. The other bartender was nice, as were the rest of the staff. We spent about £300 as a group, but I have to say that the initial welcome was the worst I've ever experienced in a pub, which is why I am leaving this review.

During dinner, I observed the staff being scolded for thirty minutes in a meeting. The manager did not seem to consider that lecturing his employees in a patronizing manner in front of customers was inappropriate while explaining mundane tasks like pouring a beer and stacking the dishwasher. if you’re a sucker for good Thai food, this is the place! staff are friendly, back outdoor space can be heated and overall really good vibes. price is very reasonable good Thai food, always comes out quickly. the wait to be seated can be quite long during the weekends so weekdays would probably be best if you want to have a taste!

Went here for the first time in a while. Absolutely lovely atmosphere and Mo and Scarlet are fantastic. Super attentive and helped me with my order couldn’t have asked for more! Whoever is looking after them during this season, they def deserve a bottle of wine!!

I was visiting London, when I was invited by friends, to go with them for lunch at the Pineapple. We ordered a number of dishes, Thai food, well cooked and at a reasonable price. There was an excellent draught beer selection too. Well done, Pineapple!

Sexy pub, sexy staff, sexy fruit. All jokes aside, a wonderful, cosy atmosphere, great service and lovely food.
