The starters were excellent. My main course was decent, but I ordered the Rob Roy steak, and for the price, I was quite disappointed. The music created a great atmosphere, and the staff was friendly, but they need to improve their communication. At one point, three different employees checked on us for the same course, and we were asked if we wanted dessert menus before we had even finished our starters. It felt like we were being overly monitored. However, I believe that with better communication, these issues can be easily resolved.

If you’re looking for a quality pub just off the Royal Mile, consider a nice dinner here. Regular pub food here…well prepared. The real draw of this place is the ambience. Dark wood, fun quotes and wall decor, friendly and helpful staff with nightly music (starting about 9:30; we were too tired, unfortunately). Had a nice, fancier dinner the night before but much preferred this place! I ordered a delicious hamburger. Husband ordered a Haggis Tower (which he loved) along with a meat pie (also loved)!
We arrived at 5:30 PM, and it was quite peaceful since the music doesn’t start until later in the evening. Based on a recommendation, I tried the steak pie, which was enjoyable. The whisky sauce was particularly flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the toffee, and it was absolutely delightful. We paired it with a dram of whisky, and they complemented each other perfectly. By the time we left, the place began to fill up. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we never felt rushed during our visit.

One off our best experience of great food in a lovely restaurant I had the steak pie which was out of this world and deserts are really delicious with a great range of food to suit everyone would recommend to everyone to give it a try you’ll not be disappointed
Best burger I’ve had. Topped with cheese ,haggis onion rings. The staff were great, it was a good choice for our first night in Edinburgh. Would definitely recommend.
Great experience and great food. Almost never accepted our cash. This was the only place that gave us this problem. We would definitely return.
The restaurant boasts a fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful location. The food and service were both excellent as well.
