We had high hopes for our first visit to The Plough for an early supper on a Saturday evening. A nice atmosphere inside, not overly busy and pleasant decor. Welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our table. We waited an overly long time for menus and even longer for our drinks to arrive. Food was a long time coming. We shared bread and confit garlic hummus, no garlic flavour and no real depth of flavour to the hummus but tasty, warm, fresh bread. The Plough did our son and his wife proud on their wedding day last week. The team listened to their wishes and whether as a result of the pub's own work or the recommendations they made, the happy couple got exactly the relaxed garden party reception just as they wanted it. From a guest perspective, the garden was beautifully decorated and the pub itself was clean and welcoming, even down to the loos at the end of the night! Service throughout the day, whether in the garden or at the bar was excellent, well organised, unobtrusive and both professional and friendly. Had a fabulous meal here, with very attentive service. Food is high quality, unique and delicious. Friendly and personable bar and restaurant staff. Only spoiled by an insulting customer who very vocally spoke to staff with contempt, clearly having nothing better to do and who hopefully will not return!
