We had a fantastic meal and received excellent service from the waitstaff at this restaurant. After finishing our meals, we went outside to the smoking area and turned on the outdoor heaters due to the chilly and wet weather. Unfortunately, the manager of the establishment approached us and aggressively stopped us from using the heat lamps, claiming it was costing him money. He then proceeded to yell at us and cut off the power, despite us being paying customers who had spent a significant amount of money at the bar. I took my son, his wife, and my granddaughter, along with my daughter Abaigh and her boyfriend, to The Plough for lunch yesterday. We all enjoyed the typical pub food, which had something for everyone including my vegetarian daughter. We ended up in the lovely sunny garden, despite the forecasted rain, where my granddaughter was fascinated by the roaming chickens. She didn't want to leave and had to be persuaded to finally go.
Is it a beer garden or a farmyard? The music is brilliant, the service is great but whose bright idea was it to have loose chickens roaming around the tables outside where you're eating, pecking your feet and leaving droppings everywhere? It's not just chickens here either... we saw a number of rats eating from the chickens' food bowls. Hope they can sort this out. At the moment it definitely puts me off returning.
I go to this place regularly, it’s an amazing venue for music of all ages, young bands starting out, old bands and old musicians, mind you the old ones have the talent, young ungs, will learn from being there. Tonight was a wonderful night, the band playing and the host also in the band. One of the best nights I’ve had in the plough, people from all walks and background, dancing and enjoying the evening. We had a wonderful night at this restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic, thank you so much! We will definitely be returning, as COVID won't stop us from enjoying ourselves.
Absolutely lovey welcome for people that they never met. Really genuine, friendly, and so on point with just being the perfect hosts. I wish there were more like Billy and Elsie around.
I absolutely love the The Plough. Great atmosphere with open mic nights and fantastic talented bands. Oh… The staff are lovely too. You’re guaranteed a fun evening.
