We had a reservation for 7:30 PM on a Saturday night at the Jersey Shore, and I was surprised they still had availability. While the indoor seating was packed, we were the only ones dining outside. We began our meal with the Caesar Salad, which was fresh and delicious. For my main course, I ordered the Blackened Ahi Tuna special. It was very fresh, although the blackening seasoning was a bit heavy, making it slightly salty. This restaurant is off the normal beaten path but worth it. It has an unusual menu is BYOB. On this, our second visit, we took friends for their first visit. We started with the broiled oysters topped with cheese WOW. As our entrees, two of us ordered the Shrimp Creole which we both felt was delicious and an ample sized portion. My husband ordered the Tues Special which was a Beef Bolognese over pasta it was a large portion he really enjoyed it and said it was very different. The kitchen was quite slow during our visit on a Saturday night in the summer, despite the empty tables, so it wasn't particularly busy. The waitstaff was also sluggish. We didn't receive any bread until we asked for it after finishing our appetizers, and our appetizer plates were never cleared away. On the bright side, the food was excellent, so perhaps we just happened to visit on an off night in terms of service. Additionally, some landscaping improvements would be beneficial; the restaurant resembles a regular house that appears to neglect its exterior. We weren't even sure if the place was open when we arrived.
This is my 5th time visiting Quarter House. This visit and the last 2 were very disappointing as they ran out of main menu items. The 1st time this happened we were there for Oyster night in the off season at about 6:45 pm. We were told they were out of oysters. There were probably 10 people in the restaurant beside us on a Thursday off season. Not acceptable. Last night we decided to give it another chance. The choice of entrees were about 8 and they were out of 2. How do they continue to serve guests so inadequately and stay open for business. We will not be back. Very disappointing. We really enjoy having dinner at The Quarter House Restaurant. They always have interesting specials and the food is delicious. The crab and corn bisque is spectacular. The waitstaff is well-informed and offers help in dealing with food allergies. They really make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant (and have many times!
Very pleasant ambiance. Great service and delicious food. We will definitely be going back. We thought it was reasonably priced for a higher end food destination. Could be a date night/special occasion place, or just a nice dinner out with the family.
Char-broilte oysters were fantastic, as well as the black Mahi-Mahi- and crabcakes over roasted green tomatentreen. but the lemon cake...wow! as light and refreshing as possible.

The food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and efficient. I tried the fish of the day, which was very fresh and incredibly tasty!
