A lovely traditional village pub. We arrived on a dark, wet Friday evening without a booking to find the pub very busy and no tables available. However, we were made to feel very welcome, offered a drink, and after a review of their bookings the staff let us know that a table would become free after about half an hour (it was actually much sooner than this). We chose our food and ordered and despite the busyness, it arrived quite quickly. And it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, generous portions, a very enjoyable meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Couldn't wish for better.
We met friends and parked our vans in the field for 2 nights and were welcomed by Steve, Vicky and their staff. The service, atmosphere and food were amazing. The staff were friendly; promoting a wonderful environment. The service was excellent. And the menu was something else. The food was exceptional. The staff go out of their way to make your visit memorable. We will be back...
The Red Lion was a really friendly pub, and importantly, for us, a very dog friendly establishment. We enjoyed really good cooking and far better than the average pub fare. The menu in the Red Lion has flavours from Greece and a good choice to cater for all. With a fine choice of beers etc this is certainly a pub to visit when in this area.
If you want THEE worlds best steak and ale pie, come to the Red Lion. i'm a true pie man and this place took the biscuit tonight. Had an amazing meal here on Saturday night, one of the best pub meals out in a long time. Varied menu, really tasty dishes, well presented and the staff were an absolute pleasure friendly, helpful and super professional. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Just as an English pub should be. Nice warm fire. Good selection of ales, lagers and wines Friendly staff and locals. Thoroughly recommend the Sunday lunch, but you'll need to book. Definitely going back.
