excellent gastropub. the four of us had net and desserts. that eats time to get in, but it's worth waiting. the standard of cooking and procurement is very high. also large portions. I had panfried sea bass with comminuted new kartoffels, saphir and lemon butter. excellent crunchy skin drowned on the fish and soft rich new kartomas in lemon butter. that was the only dish that was not seasoned for my taste because of the salty saphir. flavours very well balanced. sebastian law ordered the braided lamb from the Sunday roast menu many a time as he is a native. On Saturday, I enjoyed a grilled lunch, starting with an appetizer of wild mushrooms on toast topped with garlic vegan butter. For the main course, I had char-grilled calçots served with Romesco sauce, alongside a spiced carrot cap with carrot hummus and a mixed salad. Book early if you want the sunday roast. Which, may I add, is the best I've had in London. This a charming little boozer with a warm, inclusive feel. The menu is seasonal and fresh, changing daily so you never quite know what you're going to get. Situated in leafy Highgate village its the perfect place to unwind after a bracing walk through Highgate wood. Prices are on the high side, but you pay for great food and surroundings. and this is no exception. It's a perfect place to take that special someone, or even to just down on your own with a paper and an ale.

I have a recurring daydream about my own pub. a place for family, friends and neighbours to have hearty lunch and dinner to stop for a pint hoppy craft beer or a cold glass oily asace riesling by. I publish the summer sun with my love among the beautiful flower trees or divide the sessel before the crunchy camels on a cold winter evening. then I realize that I have often been in this pub of my dreams – it is not much different than the red lion sun. We had an absolutely amazing Sunday lunch! My wife enjoyed the roast pork belly, while I had the cassoulet—both dishes were outstanding. We also paired our meal with a lovely bottle of Languedoc wine. Although we live nearby, this was our first visit, and we’re already excited about coming back next Sunday!

Best pub in london hands down. Great staff, great cooking and amazing produce. Daily changing menu offering fresh dayboat seafood, and meat from the local butcher, and always good veggie/vegan options. Highly recommend. Sunday roast is next level.

4.25 stars. Really nice Sunday meal and dog friendly. Outdoor heaters provide comfort in winter. Two of us shared entrees of oysters and mussels. Shared a main of Aberdeen beef. Service was friendly.about £65 for two with a drink each
