The room is awkwardly designed, with large cabinets creating a narrow walkway past the beds. The ergonomics are poor, offering very limited table and bathroom shelf space (there's no space at the sink). The shower has weak water pressure and an odd half-glass door that swings open incorrectly. The toilet is also quite low. To make matters worse, the shampoo dispenser is broken, and there are no USB ports at the desk. The attempt to add old-fashioned charm fails due to the lack of functional design and amenities, making the room uninviting. Be cautious when staying at this hotel, as the staff may attempt to take advantage of you. We had a bar tab of $27 at the Tiki Bar, which unexpectedly ballooned to $138 due to an outrageous 398% tip imposed by an employee. If you try to resolve this issue with the hotel, you won’t receive any response, and the staff you do manage to speak with are often unhelpful and rude. I found the Tiki Bar staff barely deserving of a 20% tip. I would suggest looking for accommodations elsewhere when visiting Charleston. The rooms are also quite dated and in disrepair; for instance, the shower control handle fell off several times, and when it did stay on, it barely worked.
Our server I believe Julie), was very welcoming and attentive, our starters and meal were paced appropriately and we did not feel rushed to eat. My wife had the lamb chops and I the surf and turf. The plating was beautiful and the meal did not disappoint everything was amazing! Our reservation was at 7pm and there were not many patrons in the restaurant which created a quiet dining experience. We also had a great view of the harbor. The whole package, the staff, the atmosphere, the food, it all created a perfect dining experience and a wonderful way for my wife and I to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately even with reservations and being sat immediately upon arrival (5 min early actually, we sat for an hour with getting only two of the three first courses (soup and an appetizer that we ordered. Multiple things had already gone wrong and we were on a time constraint so after a solid hour we had to leave without eating our meal and with two of our party of four eating nothing. Their vegetarian options were abysmal and were unwilling to make any adjustments to accommodate our party member. We will never go here again. Good luck if you try it out. The only thing I can say for the staff is at least they didn’t make us pay a cent.

We were sat by the bar. It was not crowded when we arrived, however, the dinner took 2 hours. My shecrab soup was good but I sent it back for having a film over the top like it had been sitting out for awhile and it was lukewarm. I was sick all night from the dinner. Host was extremely nice the next day, but I will not be going back.
I had a wonderful evening. I enjoyed watching the sunset over our beautiful holy city. The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent, as always. I've dined here many times throughout the years, and I look forward to returning soon.
What a fantastic concept! The service was outstanding, and the menu offered a wonderful selection. Everything we tried was delicious. I would highly recommend it!

NYE dinner. Dining right on the water was beautiful. Food was great. Definitely try the snapper.
