I went here with my family and all seemed alright til we sat down to get food. Tables were dirty, cutlery that was brought out was either bent or just not clean. And on top of that they brought out no napkins or anything if that sort for the food. After food came out they were leaning all over the food as serving and even got there hair in a dish. Food was alright but wouldn’t go again. And whilst eating they decided to bleach outside witch was a chemical concern having three members that all work in pubs or restaurants with us saying how bad it was and there should be a safety concern. I decided to give this restaurant a second chance after they made a mistake with my order last time. Unfortunately, my experience was the same. It seems that being located in a prime spot has made them complacent about their service and food quality. I waited 30 minutes for average chips and the staff were slow and lacked urgency, despite a line of 13 people ahead of me. They seemed more interested in looking around than efficiently serving customers. When I asked for a pot of mayonnaise, it was a hassle to get it and I eventually gave up as my children were ready to leave and our parking time was running out. Ordered a large fish with curry sauce. Got it home fish was not cooked through. I've worked in restaurants previously. They said it was the coloring off the bone. I know what that looks like. But this fish was translucent. It didn't matter about the pink off the bone. This fish was raw. I'd eaten it had to spit it out. I could taste it. In the end I gave them back what was left. Then walked out. No apology. Nothing.
Went in here for lunch ate in. Staff were great very friendly helpful. Food was excellent chips lovely freshly cooked. Husband had fish, chips and curry sauce which he said was lovely had a small fish and it was a good size for a small. Plenty big enough for him and he is a big eater! Couldn’t fault anything. Me and my friends called into this lovely Fish and Chip shop twice on the weekend of 4th and 5th March as part of our 4 day holiday in Stourport, attending Fusion 5 rock festival at The Civic Hall. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and the food was cooked beautifully; I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
The food was overpowered by too much curry sauce, making it difficult to taste anything else. One of the employees lacked hospitality and customer service skills, as she did not listen to our requests, did not smile, and did not appear ready to serve. The service was unexpectedly poor and terrible, especially after a long day of work.
The southern fried chicken should not have a sign saying it's sold out. The chips are not very good, they used to be great. Brindley Street and Pat's have better chips. Most of the staff are not very welcoming and don't even smile.
