We went to The Rocks a number of times and the food was fabulous as was the service. We hadn't been to The Rocks for some time so we were looking forward to the fine dining experience we'd had previously when we rang and booked at what was still called 'the Rocks'. Not so ! We found ourselves in cafe blu and or Pantai. The waitress explained it was all run by the same people but to go from fine dining to cafe style was very disappointing. We did the Pantai option which was quite nice but far from the fine dining we were expecting. To sum up..... Very rude to think you can put a different style of dining under the same name. Won't be going back.
Having been here before when it was Cafe Blu we thought we knew what we were getting. Waited 15 minutes after being seated before anyone bothered to come and take our order for food and drinks. Couple next to us ordered drinks after us and theirs came before ours.Was just about to walk out when food finally arrived (30 minutes after we had sat down). My wife had sweet and sour pork and it was really good, food was hot and tasty. Can't say the same for my lamb which was luke warm at best when it arrived.Not good value or service, there are plenty of other eateries in Glenelg that we will be trying next time.
Breakfast is not 5 star but then you don't pay a 5 star price. The buffet is adequate and has more than enough choice and is very well priced. The menu items are also well priced and there is some variety. The service was friendly and the meals were served quickly. We went back again to have the buffet because of the choices - fruit, pastries, juices, cereals, coffee and basic hot breakfast. The view of the beach is an added bonus - well worth the visit for a solid breakfast experience!
Didn't have buffet because I don't like luke-warm food but ordered a la carte instead - just fried eggs (buffet only had scrambled and extra cost for fried), bacon & tomato. Meal arrived with eggs undercooked (runny white) with bacon & tomato taken from buffet (what the...?). Add a cup of tea for $5 and the meal cost more than the buffet. When we booked it was called Cafe Blu but when we arrived the name had been changed to The Rocks.It was still cafe style food and ambiance .A lunch special menu for $11.90 had a nice variety.The regular menu was more pricey and we didn't order from it.The food was good and serves plentiful. Service was quick and a small complaint about the coffee was quickly and pleasantly resolved .I liked the view. I would be happy to return .
Very enjoyable midweek lunch, fantastic seaside location and friendly service. We had the rack of lamb special and vegetable stir-fry from the Thai menu, both excellent. Will be back. Only slight disappointment was that we were told that the window tables were reserved but all were empty throughout our lunch. Would book a table by the window next time.
Very reasonable drink prices backed up by a frozen pizza base with a topping that covered 60% of the dish. Salt & Pepper Squid minus the squid with extra salt was really disappointing. The place had a great vibe but was unfortunately let down by food created in a backpackers kitchen
Took family there last Saturday for a celebration. We had lamb curry, pork, fish and burger dishes (and nuggets for the little one as normal). All were average and nothing special. Cost with 2 glasses of wine and soft drinks was $170. For me not value for money. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The eggs were okay but the bacon was like chewing rubber and the coffees for room service were like going thru Maccas drive thru. Very weird for a S.A as its usually known for recycling why not just give us a Mug?
