The Rusty Stag - Tisch reservieren

The Rusty Stag has only been opened a few weeks but has lots of potential. The menu was adventurous but could have described the food more explicitly. As we went on a Sunday we were only offered the Sunday Lunch menu. The weekeday dinner menu was more extensive. Generally, the starters were excellent I had grouse with black pudding and it was very tasty. The mains were good although both the lamb and the beef had too much fat left on them this could have been trimmed. The Yorkshire puddings were a little dry, and the roast potatoes were hard as though they had been kept warm for a long time. The vegetables were plentiful and very well cooked. At no point did anyone ask if our food was OK. Is this not basic stuff? even Brewers Fayre does this!! Steak was tough and chewy. At over £20 this was not good but they did take the price off the bill. They have whitewashed the whole place. Looks like they still need to do some painting. Not planning on going back (liked it when it was the Fox)

This place has closed. Not sure how OpenTable can confirm a booking and allow us to waste our time and money travelling to a closed restaurant

Arrived to find it closed with a paper note explaining that there was a kitchen gas problem. Somebody could of called to mention it.

The restaurant closed for the day without any warning to diners.
