We had a table outside where we could watch the world go by. It was a Saturday lunch and we could choose from several tables outside or inside without a reservation. I ordered the pork belly and scallops. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. It fell apart, melted in the mouth and was full of flavour. The scallops were plump, fresh and were mouth-wateringly good. My husband was very happy with his paella which was well seasoned and full of seafood and chicken. For only $10 my daughter had chicken nuggets, chips, salad and two scoops of ice cream which was good value. Beautiful old hotel filled with history in a great area of Southbank it was lovely to pop in here for dinner, we were staying in Brisbane for 3 nights pre cruise and we looking for somewhere comfortable to eat this was perfect close to our hotel on Southbank it has a beautiful old verandah with seating outside always busy in this area when we had walked past in the previous days and this looked like a popular local spot to gather for a drink in the evening so we decided to stop in on our last night the food was great the wine very nice a moscato the menu is interesting and varied. The staff are very friendly helpful and attentive.
really bad food-- such a shame. i was keen on enjoying this place. we had the squid, pork belly and lamb cheeks. pork belly wasn't caramelized (so, just imagine slow cooker pork belly without any caramelization before slow cooking). the squid were cut into really large clumsy pieces and was just greasy-- not crispy. the chips with the squid were also soggy-- this is actually really rare that people can muck up chips like this-- something wrong with their deep frying technique. the wait staff were really nice though. maybe it was because we went on a wednesday night..
Fantastic meal at the weekend. Pub meals in Brisbane can be unimaginative. Steak or fish and chips being the usual choices. The Ship Inn had these but also some other great choices too. I opted for the barramundi (and made a mental note to try the vegetarian basket next time). The fish was cooked to perfection and came with some great accompaniments - salad and some baked potato wedges. We ate in the beer garden which was lovely but they offer a quieter area inside as well. I wouldn't classify it as fine dining but it was a very good pub meal.

We came upon this place after our visit to the maritime museum and we were not disappointed. This place has a very relaxing outdoor beer garden under a canopy of palms and shade sails. I had a shepherds pie and husband had the calamari on Asian salad and the 1/2 kg of wings and all we could say was yum yum.Beautiful relaxed setting on a Tuesday afternoon, however as it is so close to the university I can imagine it may be a little busier other times.
I was pleasantly surprised with the menu. If I'm ever going out for a meal I always pre check the menu to make sure there are allergy friendly options. This time I didn't get the chance and was pleased to see a variety of options. I chose the gf Cajun chicken salad and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for thinking of those who need other options when dining.
Have wedding booked for may they recommend a dj however he is totally unreliable failed to meet for appointment then didn't return calls payed 200 deposit can't risk using him as he is to unreliable

Great for a large group, generous portions and good wine prices, the selection is a little limited but when you are with friends it's not that important. I had porterhouse with prawns. Friends had chips, vegetarian salad, nachos and rice.

We have been here a few times, this time the food was very average and the macho service staff were very abrupt and rude, furthermore they don't mind kicking patrons out so they can go home early
Ship Inn is a great location and a great place to stop for a meal, a coffee or a drink. Good atmosphere and value for money meals.
