This beach shack is an excellent choice for lunch or a casual bite, but during the summer, finding a place to sit can be quite chaotic. You place your order at the counter, and they deliver your food to you, but many patrons tend to linger, which might mean you end up eating your meal on the curb outside. The food itself is fantastic, with a diverse menu featuring a range of breakfast and lunch options. They also offer a selection of local and regional beers on tap. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back, casual dining experience.
We stopped in here while visiting and I?m so glad we did! The ceviche is different and totally delicious with cucumbers, hot chips with salt and pepper on them. LOVED it. We had a burger and steak tacos. I ordered steak tacos at the Ritz and here and gotta tell you Shwacks wins hands down. The sauce is super great and they cooked the meat perfectly. They?re outdoor seating has a wind block so it was comfortable even though the day was chilly. 10/10 recommend!
This place is fantastic! It's highly popular with both locals and city visitors seeking something exciting and different. They have an impressive selection of craft beers, and the staff is exceptional. Our food arrived quickly, despite them being quite busy! We were just looking for a nice spot to enjoy a decent burger for our first dinner in Dana Point, and it exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend this place!
I stopped eating lunch with a friend. Your menu has a variety of options, from burgers and sandwiches, tacos, salads, plates when you have dinner. I have the Shwack Burger, Avocado (an extra dollar) and one side of their spuds (Dink Potato wedge). Solid burgers that pickled onions that made it all better for a great lunch. Outdoor seating and quite quiet, with ample parking at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon!

Last month my wife and I drove 5 hours from AZ just to have their tacos (Fish Steak) and Queso Shrimp Dip. We arrived just as they were turning over their kitchen from breakfast to lunch. We had to wait a bit to order lunch, but it was worth it! The bar was open and kept us ?entertained? while we hung out on the Patio. This definitely passed the ?Would my wife eat here?? test. We are hooked!
We've eaten here every time we get to Dana Point. This lunch my wife tried her French onion soup and I had the chicken pesto salad on a bed of fresh baby spinach. Both decisions were stubborn! Shacks quality ingredients were very appreciated. I must say I never had a better salad in my life.
I had a fantastic casual lunch here! The chips and queso were absolutely delicious. They also offer wine and have beer available on tap. A helpful tip: bypass the line and head straight to the bar counter for full service!
Amazing food. Asked what the employees recommend. Fish tacos. Not disappointed. And the guacamole was also amazing. I also guess they're asking about my service dog.
