This beach shack is an excellent choice for lunch or a casual bite, but during the summer, finding a place to sit can be quite chaotic. You place your order at the counter, and they deliver your food to you, but many patrons tend to linger, which might mean you end up eating your meal on the curb outside. The food itself is fantastic, with a diverse menu featuring a range of breakfast and lunch options. They also offer a selection of local and regional beers on tap. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back, casual dining experience.
I stopped eating lunch with a friend. Your menu has a variety of options, from burgers and sandwiches, tacos, salads, plates when you have dinner. I have the Shwack Burger, Avocado (an extra dollar) and one side of their spuds (Dink Potato wedge). Solid burgers that pickled onions that made it all better for a great lunch. Outdoor seating and quite quiet, with ample parking at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon!
Last month my wife and I drove 5 hours from AZ just to have their tacos (Fish Steak) and Queso Shrimp Dip. We arrived just as they were turning over their kitchen from breakfast to lunch. We had to wait a bit to order lunch, but it was worth it! The bar was open and kept us ?entertained? while we hung out on the Patio. This definitely passed the ?Would my wife eat here?? test. We've eaten here every time we get to Dana Point. This lunch my wife tried her French onion soup and I had the chicken pesto salad on a bed of fresh baby spinach. Both decisions were stubborn! Shacks quality ingredients were very appreciated. I must say I never had a better salad in my life.
