I added a review for this restaurant when I hadn't been there. I like my Indian and I was compelled to write that review due to a whinging review I read about spice avenue and the owners response which made me laugh ...when I was looking to find the number 1 curry restaurant in Brisbane.. I finally ventured to spice avenue last night. I'm torn. I'm a huge fan of one in Morningside and I thought it would be hard to beat. Needless to say I can see why this restaurant gets its great reviews. There are points of difference too long to go into but overall I think spice might just pip the Morningside favourite who I have been going to for a long time. The service was great. We visited this restaurant yesterday on a recommendation. Being an expat I was excited to try this but I must say I was left a little disappointed. The meals were served in big pots and rice in small dishes. I ordered the chicken tikka masala but it was more like chicken tikka in tomato soup. The poppadoms were fantastic. The naan bread was adequate. Overall I found it a little disappointing and nothing like I remember from the UK as promised. The staff were absolutely fantastic and friendly.
We went with a few friends to dinner. To be thruthful I am not a big fan of Indian food, but this restaurant has changed my mind. The food was fantastic and a great variety of dishes. The service was also very good.
A great way to clear the nasal passages washed down with a few beers. Great flavours- however a little disappointed with the excessive sauce levels in the meals. A pity, but would return Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great spot, very welcoming. Glad to see Naz is still there. Mixed platter to start, Onion Bhaji aren’t the best infact very mediocre, other items were nice . Mains of Balti Chicken
