Yesterday afternoon, a friend and I visited The Square for a catch-up. It was my first time there and I was impressed by the welcoming and clean atmosphere. There was a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from, and the coffee was delicious. Although I didn't have a meal, I saw another customer enjoying a large English Breakfast that looked amazing. I plan to return to try the food. The restaurant has a variety of seating options, including tables, chairs, settees, and a cozy snug. The restrooms were clean and stocked with fragrant hand soap. I dined at this restaurant today with two friends for the first time, as it had been recommended to me several times. Initially, the appearance from the outside was not appealing, as all the windows were covered in condensation, making it impossible to see inside. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we entered. The cafe was beautifully decorated with plenty of space. The food was delicious, with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and great value for money. Unfortunately, the temperature inside was cold, particularly in the restrooms. Nice decor, good menu selection with very reasonable prices, and the food was very good in terms of both quality and quantity...but trip was sadly overshadowed by unfriendly (at best) and rude (at worst) staff. I wasn 't sure how things were working given Covid restrictions, and the first member of staff seemed irritated to have to explain. Once ordered, I was waiting for my food when they called my order out. I wasn 't sure if I had heard correctly so I asked the lady to repeat. The staff member was nothing other than rude about having to repeat half a dozen words. For some reason all the food is still being served in take away bags, with take away coffee cups and disposable cutlery. There is a sign saying due to COVID no table service or table clearing, what is that all about??? When your food is ready the lady comes out to find you, you then collect your carrier bag from the counter and take it to your table to eat. Why on earth doesn’t she just bring it out to you, oh yes because of COVID. For goodness get a grip and offer a proper service using china plates and cups, proper cutlery and serve customers their food and clean the tables. Visited with my wife for lunch today, first time since pre-covid. I had the 3 egg omelette with ham mushrooms, my wife had the jacket potato with tuna cheese. Lovely food and good vfm, Staff were friendly and welcoming. spotlessly clean. Also purchased some local honey there.Definately be back for coffee or lunch again.
I went to this restaurant for breakfast with my daughters and we were really impressed. The service was great and the food was amazing. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the girls really enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be coming back.
Whether it's brunch, lunch, tea, coffee and cake this food is utterly delicious! If you're anywhere near lunchtime do yourself a favour and try the salads they are outstanding! Could happily eat here every day of the week.

Lovely place. So happy that they have remained strong throughout this rubbish. Such a beautiful asset within Holmer Green, morning coffee is 5 star.
