Spent two nights at this property £79 per night for an economy twin room). We had booked for hotel but on arrival we were accommodated in a different property, Station House, a very plain building across from the hotel. The room was very small, a single room being let as a double. No wardrobe, no suitable drawer space, nowhere to put our suitcases without either tripping over them or blocking the exit from our room. We were horrified to find that we were locked in the property on the first night and then locked out of it on the second evening when we arrived back at 9pm. We hosted a special event at the Station Hotel during my father's funeral in January, which included a private dinner for approximately 45 family and friends. Some of our guests were also staying or dining at the hotel for family visits or the funeral. Despite a heavy snowstorm and numerous last-minute alterations, Jill and her team went above and beyond to accommodate everyone's needs and preferences. The event coordination was personalized and comforting, given the somber circumstances, and we felt well taken care of. The food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. We visited the stretch tent garden last night and it was just fantastic to be out and yes it might have been cold (can someone tell the weather man this is May but with jackets, scarves and blankets it was freedom (in my best Mel Gibson voice : and we had an absolutely fantastic night. The service and staff were excellent and the food was just fantastic. I had the chicken sizzling fajita's which were just delicious and so well served considering the restrictions. We chose the Station Hotel following a recommendation and because it was the N1 best place to eat in Alness. If that is the beat we then we won’t be eating in Alness again!It’s not a posh place and it doesn’t attempt to be. We had been told it did good basic meals which after a long drive is exactly what we wanted. However, it just did not deliver. My husband had a chicken burger which was super salty whilst I had a pie which really bland. On top of that the waitress served our drinks by holding the glass right at the top. I don’t really appreciate it normally however with COVID it’s the last thing I want! Would not return and would not recommend.

Half way round a !tour we stopped to stretch our legs and came across the inviting Station... glad we did. Very friendly staff, well thought out processes, carefully distanced and great food... ok we only had Carrot Coriander but it was not from a packet, fresh bread and ample volume.Significant Value
We were struggling to find somewhere serving a reasonable menu for dinner when we popped into the Station. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our holiday. Wonderful favours, generous portions and excellent service. I highly recommend the Cullen Skink to start and the duck breast main.
Hotel rooms are nice with updated furnishings. Restaurant staff are very polite and food is delicious! Would stay again even if not for business.
Stayed hear many times and the food great and has never disappointed and nothing is ever a problem for the staff that are so helpful
