I love to eat fish and chips in my car, fresh from the fryer ... always take a metal fork and usually a can of something fizzy to wash it down, oh and whiles I would even prepare a fresh bread and butter sandwich. In Kirrie Centre, The Steeple Chipper is the only real Fish Supper venue, though the various oriental carry-outs all do a pretty reasonable fish and chips. It 's probably good for all of them to have comprehensive and competent bits of opposition, it 's the life of trade and brings the best out in them all. Still, The Scot loves his fish supper from the traditional, often Italianate-ish, chip shop set-up. And, it must be said, The Steeple does it well ... As you order, you can watc...
I remember having wonderful fish and chips from here when I worked in the town a few years ago. So when family came to stay I recommended that we go and get a fish supper this evening. The kids wanted to eat early, so we just picked up a portion for them to share, and the plan was that we’d go back and order for the adults later. I was so embarrassed. The chips looked and tasted like they’d been kept warm for a day and the fish batter was pale and soggy. Not what it used to be. We didn’t go back for the other 4 portions. Not a patch on North Street in Forfar. Won’t be back I’m afraid :
I called to place a delivery by telephone for a family supper. Having placed my order I was told it wouldn't be long,a hour later I was finding myself on phone asking if the meal had left the shop. Having kids starving for supper I was tempted to cancel the whole order but gave them a chance. On phone I was told order was on way(we only live a ten kins away). 20mins later our food arrives after 2calls to ask where it was and everything is freezing cold Complete Waste of money and upset kids also. Wont be back!
Extremely disappointed with The Steeple Kirriemuir Traditional Fish Chips . Ordered fish suppers to be delivered at 7:30 tonight but they were delivered at 6:20 and cold. When my partner called to complain, they hung up on her 3 times after calling her a liar. Previously they had been excellent but they have been given opportunities to correct an error and chosen instead to alienate their clientele.

We always visit this restaurant whenever we come to Kirriemuir. The food is cooked fresh to order, and the quality and service are exceptional, with friendly staff. The fish is superb, and all the other menu items we tried were very good as well. This is a place not to be missed.
Late night forage for food. Everything was cooked to order, it didnt help with the hunger but was worth the wait. Unusual mushroom slices in breadcrumbs , tasty and totally hit the mark. Not the essiest place to spot if you're not local but worth seeking out.
I always enjoy the delicious fish supper from this restaurant and highly recommend it. The chips are perfectly cooked and the batter on the fish is crispy. I usually pick up my order, but they also offer delivery which is very convenient.
Unpleasant atmosphere in shop amongst staff and owner. It was like nobody wanted to be there or were there under duress. Chips had a bitter aftertaste. Hope there's another chip shop here as I would definitely not recommend this one.

The fish dinner at this restaurant is top-notch! The establishment is always clean and offers a wide variety of menu options. My family has been dining here for years, as we have a vacation home in the area.
Ordered jumbo sausage supper and it was cooked to order which was pleasing. Was OK, but felt the amount of chips was on the small side. Easy to find in the town centre.
