We chose it because it was dog friendly and had reasonable/good reviews. But sadly the food we both ordered the special (braised beef with mushrooms and brandy gravy and bubble and squeak) was not good at all. The dish was a good sized portion with a generous plate of veg each but sadly the beef was not as described it was supposed to be slow braised but was quite tough and not falling apart as expected. My experience at the Swan Inn for Saturday lunch was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the price was reasonable. The staff were friendly, quick, and efficient, allowing us to relax with a drink while we perused the menu. The starters were excellent, especially the curried chicken and coriander soup. The main courses, including curries and vegetarian options, were all very good. The homemade ice cream for dessert was outstanding. The rooms were pleasant and the facilities clean and comfortable. Food drinks: We booked a table for four for an evening meal. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had theatre tickets booked so had to be served promptly. The staff were fabulous.
