Disappointed by The Gwen Oversold Insecure Relocation I've been a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member for years, frequently traveling for work and always choosing Marriott properties. My recent stay at The Gwen in Chicago, however, was incredibly disappointing. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I was notified just 10 minutes (via email, no phone call) before arrival that the hotel was oversold. We recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding on the terrace of The Gwen Hotel in Chicago, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the moment we arrived at the terrace until the end of the event, everything was flawless. First and foremost, we were impressed by the warm welcome from the staff. The service was exceptionally friendly and professional, and every request was met with a smile. The Gwen's location is excellent. The front desk staff were welcoming, efficient, and professional. We received a corner room upgrade at Platinum Elite. The room was extremely clean, bed comfortable, and the bathroom was very spacious. Molton Brown products and great water pressure in the shower. The only small downsides were the lack of in-room coffee (a trend I despise), the room being too warm at night which I suspect may be caused by thermostats with motion sensors turning off the active cooling, and the daily destination fee, where I'm not sure what amenity even exists.
I would like to comment on excellent Conciege service. Ramon went out of his way to book the best restaurants in town during one of the busiest times (very large congress with 70 thousand visitors) for 4 nights (even though I only stayed in the Gwen for two night. I had nothing booked until last moment and he used personal favours to get us tables at the best places. Very impressive! Never had such experience in Chicago. Thank you Ramon.
Very Disappointing and Unbelievable the Indian girl in the morning at the cafe was so very rude it completely ruined my stay. The Gwen Luxury hotel is the saddest example of customer service what a waste of time and money lots of money was spent between all of My family with the suites. Never Again!!
Highly recommend. Although we had some setbacks with drink availability, the venue is beautiful and the staff are very pleasant. The rooftop at the Gwen provides a great view of the city and it’s definitely up there in terms of rooftop Chicago experiences.

I reserved a spot on rooftop Everyone was so nice and kind. My friends and I had a wonderful time. Appetizers and my burger delish. Brussel sprouts are so good. The shrimp was tasty too
Great spot if you want to be central in down town. Easy access to all shopping and restaurants. Staff was great and the entire hotel was very clean.
