The Travellers Rest

We had two meals off the specials board, roast lamb neck and a burger celebrating the queen's jubilee. Both meals were lovely. Generous portions and service was fast. Meals were around £15 each. The car park is quite large and the seating inside abundant. Lovely little place in a lovely location close to the many attractions of the Edale valley.

Food was average at best. Not a great selection of beer, have to fetch your own cutlery which at paying £16 for a pie is quite disappointing. Not really much atmosphere either and pretty dead for a Saturday afternoon when other places are very busy so it says it all really.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food and beer are decent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great for a variety of outdoor activities in the Peaks. I would give the rooms, service, and location all a rating of 5 out of 5.

Looked good but not doing food in the late A.M. when I arrived.

Stopped for lunch. Food good. Beer good. Service good.
