Four of us chose to book at The Victoria in Oxshott for our Sunday Lunch today. We rarely go out to eat as it is such a luxury these days and our usual choice The Onslow Arms in Clandon was full. We arrived at 12:45 to The Victoria and while there was a fire burning, it had not matured and the restaurant was a little chilly my wife kept her coat on for most of the meal . Our table was ready and our friends were already sitting at it. We decided to visit this restaurant based on the promising reviews, anticipating exceptional service and delectable food. Regrettably, our experience was far from satisfying. Initially, the service was exceptionally slow. We ordered several servings of chips for the kids and requested ketchup, but the chips arrived promptly while the ketchup lagged behind, leaving us with finished chips. Food is west end quality in a rural setting. It is nice not to have to dive to London to have a classy meal A guitarist plays on Wednesdays which adds to the professional feel I'm reluctant to post this in case I struggle to get a table when I need one here.
