Food rating 100%. Staff gentle and polite. However the sushi we ordered didn't arrived. Our booking was at 7.30, there were 6 of us and when the food came it came very quickly -so I asked for a break before we continued the meal. Once again the rest of the food that we did receive was fabulous but at 9.:30 the restaurant was being cleaned around us, sweeping of floors, wiping down of tables and putting the chairs on top of the tables. We didn't want to eat and run so we stayed until 10.30 and apart from all the activity, once it ceased the staff went into the kitchen and we didn't feel quite so pressured. Rem and his team run a charming small and delicious Japanese restaurant. Although the main courses are superb, by far the best way to eat here is by sharing a few or, even better, a lot of the starters. The miso soup is far far less salty than most. The kaisen goyosa are delectable as are the sally bao. Hard to go past the ebbi tempura, while the beef tataki is irresistable. The pawn skewers are mouth watering and the same goes for the gyu shitaki. People come from miles around and it's wise to book on weekends. Highly recommended.
Our first encounter with this small Japanese restaurant in Kew. The verdict is Excellent. The lightly seared tuna slices were delicious if a bit on the peppery side. The octopus balls were yummy (although they could have been a bit firmer). The sushi and sashimi plate for one person was generous. Good roll pieces, wonderful sashimi and some decent sushi. Oh, and the serve of edamame was top notch. Prices were excellent. This will definitely become a local 'must visit' place.
We went for Saturday dinner at this small local and very busy Japanese cafe . It had a very extensive menu. We tried Ninja platter , Samurai Showdown bento, miyagi bento, unagi don, tuna tataki and takoyaki. All delicious and generous serves. However there were four of us. One received both main course and entree together. My main course was served before my entree. No problem though. The lightly spiced tuna was too spicy for my liking. Otherwise very enjoyable.

First visit to this restaurant. Great little spot for a quick but delicious mealWe had the I love sushi Maki best tasting sushi i can remember. Followed by Belly Bao that i will return for, lobster sliders, Ebo tempura which although flavoursome was a little oily all washed down with a chardonnay Will return to sample more of the menu.
Amazing tasty Japanese food that is honest and absolutely yummy. Art on a plate each and every time. Not your average restaurant, small, simple and not trying to be fine dining but flavours are better than most finest Japanese restaurant in Melbourne.
Lovely Japanese cafe at Kew. Small cafe with great service. Friendly and fast service. Food was delicious and flavoursome. We love all the dishes we ordered. Prices were reasonable Lucky to have such good Japanese food at Kew.
One of the best Japanese food we have in Melbourne my brother love it too and so are the rest of my grandson 1st communion celebration...????????????????????????

What amazing foodThis is an unassuming cafe that didn't charge corkage, and provided delicious Japanese food I will come back for again.
Great, authentic menu with innovative dishes. We go for lunch all the time. One of the better places at the Kew Junction.
