The White Monk Tearoom

Lovely little gem of a place . Visited twice in the 5 days we were holidaying in the area. Cakes are amazing . Fab choice recommend the lemon drizzle and the zesty orange sponge . Staff really welcoming and friendly . We had a personalised afternoon tea on my birthday . Great to be able to choose your sandwich fillings and bread along with scones and cakes rather than being given a standard “roll off the conveyer belt afternoon tea “ Ian and the team deserve to be praised for the fab service and great food . If we are back in the area again we would certainly pay them a visit

We visited this delightful cafe for afternoon tea/coffee and cakes. The homemade cakes were delicious. What really stood out was the exceptional customer service. One of my sons has a nut allergy and staff explained the process they undertake to avoid cross contamination between cakes, which was very reassuring. The cafe is also dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Really great cafe. The food was delicious, with portion sizes exactly as was expected. Service was brilliant as we didn't realise the kitchen was technically closed as we walked in, but the staff were brilliant and kept it open for us. Some of the walls are decorated by wallpaper made from the pages of storybooks, which add a layer of whimsy to the place too.

Lovely tea room with very pleasant and helpful staff. Food delicious, even the dog was looked after. Tried a few different dishes and enjoyed them all.
