Initially, I was concerned about the shabby interior and the lack of customers and staff. Opting to sit in the garden due to the warm weather, we found it to be somewhat tired-looking as well. Despite this, the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. Among the four of us, we ordered three servings of scampi and chips and one burger, all of which were well-cooked and presented. Several months ago, we had reserved the gazebo for a family and friends celebration. Despite some changes in staff/management between booking and the event, the current team ensured that our event went smoothly. Ed, Louise, and the rest of the staff did a fantastic job accommodating our party of 60. They reserved a sunny area for us and made the gazebo look beautiful. They were very helpful with our large pre-order of bottles for arrival drinks and were accommodating of guests' dietary requirements. The BBQ food was a hit with everyone! Nice looking pub but needs to improve on customer service/care. Visited here on Mothers Day and had a cracking meal and the staff who were there at the time were fantastic. Sadly though the staff who had customer care skills have now sadly left. I booked for an event for my Birthday in July yet the pub had the audacity to cancel my booking without even ringing me up even though they had my mobile number written down in their diary. They said they contacted me via email yet I never received this email. All very sad as when the previous staff were there it ran like clockwork. All it needs is for them to have some customer care skills and it would be a lovely pub.
What a shame! This used to be the best pub in Gravesend but has become a mess with awful service. We popped in for some drinks and food but the kitchen was closed despite the sign outside. It took ages to get served just drinks as there was no one behind the bar for a while. We was going to ask about coming back later for food but the barmaid was on her phone. It all looks so unloved now with a couple of strange but friendly locals making it even less attractive! Please, please turn back the clock!!!

The four of us went for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day, cracking place. Staff were lovely and food was amazing. Its the extra touches that matter and today my Wife was offered a complimentary drink for Mothers Day, meal came with complimentary wine and then at the end she was presented with a box of chocolates. Great seeing the place busy too. Thank you we will be back for definite.
The restaurant shows no consideration for the local residents. The music is excessively loud and of poor quality. It seems like they prioritize loudness over good music. It is believed that they have connections at the local government that allow them to keep playing loud music despite the numerous complaints.
This pub is fantastic. It has a quintessential country pub atmosphere, even though it is located in a town. The garden is amazing and a perfect spot to soak up the sun, while the food is also fantastic. The staff are friendly and create a welcoming environment for guests.
Our second meal here at this classic old school pub. Excellent food at reasonable prices good portion size. Great atmosphere very friendly staff will be returning frequently. Get your order in quickly for spanish meatballs they are great.
