The Windmill Tavern

The Windmill Tavern is a precious gem. My wife took me there yesterday for Sunday lunch to mark my birthday. It was the best Sunday lunch I have ever had out without a doubt! We started with a sharing plate of crispy whitebait and excellent Tartare sauce. This had to be followed by the roast beef and all the trimmings. The topside was superb, perfectly cooked and succulent. There was attention to detail with everything on the plate. The carrots were plentiful and tasty were just right as were the broccoli and cauliflower. The roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy within and the Yorkshire pudding was great both in flavour and texture. The wine we chose was top of the range. And...

what a pub! I visited this week for the first time and honestly I had never pub food so good! the service was amazing, everyone is friendly and attentive. the pub is well presented and the garden is amazing, will surely spend a lot of my summer evenings there! eating is unbelievable, large portion sizes and well presented. we look forward to a visit soon!
