I've been eating here since 1985. It has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant, but not anymore. The last two takeout orders I got were deplorable. The fried shrimp and chicken fingers I ordered were an absolute scam! They took one shrimp, sliced 4 pieces off of it, breaded it multiple times to fluff it up and then fried it. The chicken fingers I ordered were the same thing. There was a toothpick sized piece of chicken coated in 3/4 of tempura batter to make it appear it was a regular sized chicken finger. I understand that the prices of their supplies have increased, and so have their consumer prices. I'm understandably paying more, but for what? I don't have an issue with paying curre...
A man, who I assumed was the owner or the husband, mentioned that we could sit in the dining area, but before we could settle the matter, I told my wife that this meant we wouldn't be able to order the pupu platter, which she really wanted. The woman immediately interrupted, cutting off the discussion and sharply told me, "NO PUPU PLATTERS!" in a very snarky tone. Worst Chinese food ever! Last minute decision as we got out of the vehicle you could see a man inside the restaurant sleeping in a booth. You walk in there are chairs blocking the entire restaurant. So you’re only allowed to order take out. Took about 10 mins just to order. The lady taking the order was maybe a few beers short of a 6 pack. Once the order was placed the sleeping man got up. I said to the lady “please tell me this guys not making the food?” She said he wasn’t. As he followed her into the kitchen. Food was disgusting! dog food probably tastes better. It 's a nice little family restaurant. The Wok is cosy and seems to always have at least a few people inside eating, and is sometimes quite busy! It is a long time personal favorite of my wife, and while it 's not my favorite chinese joint, it 's still more than passable. I 've found the only flaw is the kitchen 's tendency to overcook... well, just about everything. However, they are quite responsive to a request to NOT overcook things (which is admittedly a strange request to have to make), and since that occurred to me all of my meals there have been delicious. I don't typically write negative reviews unless I really dislike a place, and unfortunately, that was the case here. I was not pleased with anything about this restaurant and will not be returning. My family and I struggled to enjoy the broccoli, the sweet and sour chicken, and the noodles, which were greasy and seemed stale. I ended up spending $48 on the meal, plus a $15 tip, only to get home and regret my decision. Never again! But hey, that's just my experience! Feel free to give it a try yourself. #justsayin
The restaurant only offers takeout but doesn’t make that clear until you arrive, as they have a sign posted on the door. This is not helpful when you’re on the road looking for a meal. Asian cuisine isn't exactly the type of food you want to eat in your car while driving!
