This is a lovely dining spot along the Villefranche-sur-Mer waterfront. After visiting Monaco, we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the principality for a quieter dinner elsewhere before returning to Nice. Having read and seen YouTube videos of dining in this town, we took the train here and wound up picking Le Trastevere. The location is fantastic. We sat on the building side of the street but they have tables right along the water. The views in all directions were beautiful. I normally opt for the local cuisine when I travel and given the combined French and Italian roots of this area of the Côte d’Azur, I felt pizza was was acceptable! A local recommended Trastevere to us for our first dinner in Villefranche sur Mer. It was so fantastic that we returned for lunch before flying back. Buzzy and atmospheric at night, it's perhaps even more impressive at lunch could there be a better setting than fresh seafood and waterside dining? The Napoli pizza and Tagliatelle with Fruits de Mer were exceptional [portions were incredibly generous . The service in this place is friendly and efficient. We had the cod à la plancha and the lasagna and they were ok. The lemon meringue pie was disappointing. Nice view overlooking the port.
A nice location but such terrible service with an unnecessarily stroppy rude waitress. She needs a few months in a charm school to learn some manners!
