I love Tropical Island Restaurant, this is the second time I'm here, and I want to come every time I'm in Florida, that's a few times a year. I'm gonna check my last visit now. They open early and serve breakfast, I was told that they eat at 1130 noon. I ordered the goatery over the phone and the lady was so sweet. She had a heavy Caribbean accent, I felt bad because she repeated her sentence more than once. She wanted to ask me what rice is. Oil At the end I said surprise. Food taken a long time to be made unless your haitian or speak creo you just might end up with Old food and not fresh ,so make sure to talk in creo or you will probably get old food. Food take 30 minutes for stew chicken to be made ? highly disappointed because this was an great restaurant before covid now im not sure whats going on here anymore the chicken looked like it was couple of days old and i did not eat the meat what so ever you all have been warned dont tale your date here please and thank you .you both will regret it.
I was here about three times. The food was good, but this last time I went, there was a RAT in the restaurant. I told the lady who served me and she pretended she didn't understand. Then I gave it to my phone and she started shaking her head. Then I called the restaurant to tell someone else, and they also pretended they don't understand, but understood everything I said. Personally, I'll never be back. I wish I had a photo, but it ran and hid not to mention that they have bad hospitality
Had the breakfast spaghetti. Will be back, the food was great and the staff very friendly. Highly rated authenticity for Haitian foods.
