We ordered a variety of starters, a sushi and sashimi platter, along with some individual sushi hand rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. The drink selection was sufficient to meet most preferences. The service was both friendly and efficient, striking a pleasing balance between formal and informal. Additionally, the prices are relatively reasonable for central dining, especially considering the quality offered. I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Umi. The fried chicken was juicy and tender on the inside, with a perfectly crispy exterior. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, although the tuna belly and mackerel weren't as impressive as the other offerings, which is understandable for a budget-friendly Japanese restaurant. The mixed tempura was among the best I've ever had, with a light and crunchy batter. The salmon teriyaki bento was cooked to perfection as well. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

must visit if to twickenham area and want some japaners. pre-calculation as usually employed, especially over the weekend. the main and sushi are of great quality and serve rather quickly portioning are slightly above average. we had 2 sushi rolls, gyoza, 2 main thing the aubergine for two that was a lot. especially the rock garnelen and miso aubergine where delicious. excellent service that was recommended very courteous attention definitiw!

had an amazing experience eating here, it would highly recommend! we later booked a table and even though they were busy, they could impress us. so glad that she was the sashimi fresh and the sushi was delicious. especially enjoyed the drachenrolle. the service was perfect, the personal was friendly, attentive and generous. will come back in future definitiw. This restaurant is adorable, and I really appreciate the warm hospitality. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I would definitely return. As for the food, I found the sushi rice to be a bit dry, and the miso black cod was slightly overcooked. However, the flavors were absolutely delightful! Food: 4, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.

Absolutely incredible Japanese cuisine with friendly service. I cannot recommend this place enough! The miso soup here is some of the best I've had, honestly! There’s a great selection of dishes and the portion sizes are huge—definitely worth the money. I plan to return; it feels like a little slice of home!

decided to try this place after seeing the perfect 5 star ratings on google. must say the rating is definitely well earned. lovely food, great minimalist ambience, decent prices. the manager/owner was very nice, made conversation and made us felt welcomed. if you want great tasting food, this is the place

Absolutely brilliant, we called for a last minute booking. This was the best sushi I have ever had, the tempura starter was extremely well cooked, light batter and tender fish vegetables. I came here for the 5* reviews and was not disappointed. the waiting staff was as good as eating was delicious. I would highly recommend!
