I just enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant tonight and I had to rush home to share my opinion! I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. It is a bit hard to find, but when you do, it really is a gem. I was looking for izakaya style restaurant. Finally came across this in zomato. Had the ocean on spoon. Refreshing and fresh. The lamb cutlet is the star of the day. Tender and the glaze was superb. Quite disappointed with the wagyu. I was hoping it's cooked for us rather doing our own BBQ. There are plain salt, matcha salt and chili powder. The matcha roll dessert was huge. The matcha gelato was yum. Overall very pleasant experience. Definitely come back for the lamb.I had the jelly sake after the manager said that it is nice. That was the truth. Light alcohol but refreshing.
Umii Modern Izakaya is one of the most funkiest Japanese restaurants you will in Inner-Western Sydney. They serve a wide array of fresh seafood dishes and your usual Japanese dishes with a modern twist.<br/ <br/ For my visit, I only opted to go with a dessert and I ordered the smashed pavlova gelato which was spot on. The plating was so elegant and the taste was very good. <br/ <br/ The pricing is a little bit at high at this place but if you don't mind paying premium prices for high quality dishes then this is your place!<br/ <br/
The most weirdest restaurant ever. Tucked away on Lyons road it was only when the door opened i knew exactly what people where talking about in regards to a very live restaurant. Surprisingly they really do have the freshest sushi i have had and the service was excellent. Pricy agree but you won't get that quality. It's hard to find beautified dishes that also have the taste. I give these guys full punts well done.

Amazing service by George and the staff. Constantly checking up on my table for extra water. Food is excellent, especially the udon. Flavour is a mix between traditional and modern. The matcha gelato was a masterpiece of its own, could taste the real matcha flavours and very cute presentation. Love the additonal drinks given to us at the end.
An unexpected surprise. Whilst it looked quite ordinary from the outside having the door opened for uou on entry and exit is something you do not see these days. The dishes were fantastic to look at and the taste incredibly good. The spoons are just incredible. Service was sharp. Will return.
Highly recommend this fusion Japanese restaurant. We also received a free dish from the chef lobster sushi! Nice services! The sake cocktail is adorable. The ocean on the spoon is the must try! Great presentation with great taste! Grilled lamb is another recommendation!
Great personal service, and fresh tasting sashimi. We had ordered a mix of both cooked and raw dishes and weren't disappointed. You must try the assorted nigiri. I'm so glad I've discovered this hidden gem.

Excellent service and incredibly fresh and tasty food. The place has not disappointed me in service presentation or quality. <br/ <br/ Price is what you would expect at a top five star venue no complaints.
