We don't drive by Vaso's Kitchen on Powatan often. But with their recent outside renovation, we noticed the restaurant and decided to check it out. The owners of Vaso's Kitchen also own Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro and Taverna Kretekou, both of which are on King Street in Old Town. The restaurant is nestled in a really nice neighborhood, east of US 1 and West of Washington Street. One of my favorite places in all of Old Town! My husband and I love coming here it is your typical neighborhood spot. The staff is so warm and friendly, and are attentive, even on a busy weekend night. The inside decor has been updated over the last year or so, and it gives off such a comfortable vibe when you are there. The food is consistently great. We have taken out of town family here, and they said they had one of the best gyros they ever tasted. The greek sampler is outstanding as well. I can not recommend this place enough, you will not be disappointed!!
It was our first time here, and we got the calamari to start, and our main courses were: lamb chops, charbroiled bifteki, and seafood marinara. Our favorite was the bifteki (but everything else was good, too). Even loved the warm bread they brought out. One of our servers (Anderson) was very sweet and attentive, and made our experience much better. We will definitely plan to come again.
Four of us met for dinner at 6. Extraordinarily hot day. We ate inside. Food was delicious. Artichoke appetizer, gazpacho soup, spanakopita, greek salad, flounder stuffed with crab meat, and eggplant parmigiana. It was exceptionally good. We have been there before but this time was the best! Great service. Very friendly. Highly recommend this local gem.

One of our go-to's, from the classic greek dishes to whatever the special is, everything here is always well executed and delicious. My favorite is the Avgolemono Soup, it is perfect on any day, such wonderful flavors. For takeout I often grab a gyro and a bow of soup and it hits the spot.
A friend and I tried Vaso's Kitchen this week, would not have noticed it was there, as it is tucked away in a neighborhood. We both opted for the Greek gyro platter, I also got the avgolemono. Unfortunately, they make it with rice instead of orzo. The gyro was decent.
Food was pretty good. Servers were very attentive and continued to check on you to make sure you didn't need anything else to enjoy your experience. This is a small restaurant but you tend to enjoy the company your with better.
So good! I always for the lemon chicken soup! Order a pint for a cold day and have some for the next day.
