The Venezia restaurant is directly on Boston Harbor and has a large spacious dining room with great dockside views. We were on our way to see Steve Miller perform at the Lynn Auditorium in Lynn Massachusetts and this was a convenient place for dinner before the show. We were a party of three and we started with signature cocktails during the bread service. The cocktails which were excellent and we ordered another round with dinner. I recently dined at this restaurant, and my experience was quite disappointing. When I arrived, the host asked me to take off my hat, which I did out of respect. However, I couldn’t help but notice that several other patrons were wearing hats without any issue. I wasn’t given any explanation for why I was singled out, which made me feel uncomfortable and awkward. Having traveled extensively and dined in numerous establishments around the world, I’ve never experienced such inconsistent and arbitrary enforcement of a dress code.
