Verve Restaurant - Tisch resevieren

Meh. Full disclosure, we were there on “Girls Night Out” in Somerville. Unplanned. The bar was busy but the restaurant was not. Our waiter did not know the menu which was not great as he told me a dish I was ordering was not spicy, and it was very spicy. Inedible for me. When asked “why didn’t you tell me so I could have switch it out?” I didn’t have the heart to tell him it was because he never came to check on us. In fairness, he took it off the bill which I appreciated. And yes we tipped on the full amount. Steak was grisly and not seasoned. Steak fries were bland. Hopefully this was just an off night. Many other choices in that hood.

Impressive place. Staff are excellent and knowledgeable thanks for the great recommendation on the wine! Kitchen handles food allergies and special requests seamlessly every dish was a winner! Our special favorite the hand cut frites. Literally, the best ones I have ever eaten.

The atmosphere, menu and service reminded us of bistros in Paris. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and attentive! Highly recommended!

I made a reservation for a Monday night as my third choice destination - a lot of restaurants in Somerville are closed on Monday apparently.
