La Roque-Gageac is a beautiful region. The extended tour requires a car and a fair to mark the 2.5 hours of road from Bordeaux. Many places for lunch or dinner between Roque-Gageac and neighbouring villages. Walking is also good with well marked trails. Recommend canoeing or kayaking as another way to enjoy the view. The Caves are interesting, if that's your thing. If you speak French, even a few common phrases, it is useful.
