I work nearby and find myself visiting for lunch much more often than for bowling, so this review will focus primarily on the Vortex Grill. They've updated their menu a few times over the past few years, likely in response to requests for healthier and quicker lunch options on this side of Fort Belvoir. However, I do miss a couple of the salads they used to serve (especially Kristen's and Mike's salads!). They have added more healthy choices that aren't salads—like offering multiple side options instead of just fries with every meal. They've also increased their fish options, though I'm hesitant to order seafood at a bowling alley. I wonder how popular those fish dishes are. Many sandwiches...
This is our go-to bowling alley in the area! We've had several birthday parties there as well and you really can't be the accommodations, the service, and the pricing. The staff is always kind of helpful, and their glow bowling is super fun for kids during the day and as a group activity at night for adults or older kids. They were remodeled within the last several years and now they have soft couches to sit on at the lanes, and the bathrooms are really nice. I also like the hightop tables at the end of each lane for eating during your game. The pizza actually isn't half bad, but my favorite is the fries and the loaded tater tots. I am not military, but I yelp 'd this place and the reviews were great so I decided to have my son 's 8th Birthday Party there back in December. I had a total of 18 out of 19 kids that came and their parents. It was hard at first to find the host for my party, but found out he had been tasked with several jobs at once and was trying to juggle them all. No harm done. All the kids and parents loved it. They kept asking how in the world did I find out about this place? Yelp of course! We will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was very nice, food was superb, and I was getting emails and texts from parents even days later saying how much fun it was and their children couldn 't stop talking...
Omg, a bowling alley where the pin thingy doesn't freeze or act up on you! Modern bowling alley with leather sofas and updated computer screen with an option to personalize the theme. Snack bar has a decent selection of food--the typical stuff, burgers, pizza, fries, salads, popcorn! Just like the theater they sell. If tubs to share with the fam or just buy a smaller portion if you want. The arcade is a little smaller but great for the kiddos. Service has always been on point and friendly. Oh, btw, if you check in on Yelp, you get a free game!

I had fun. I was here with family. We bowl for like three hours. I kick butts! Yes, they were my nephew and niece. But, they were talking like they were going to win. Not! I show them... LoL We all had nonetheless... we talked, laughed, danced a little. Oh yeah.... my brother kick my butt in the games too. Or maybe I let him win...Aaaaah .... LoL Doesn't matter. We had fun ... Smh LoL
I usually have the cheesesteak, but the Vortex Grill offers a fairly large menu, to include healthy choices, and a nice selection of adult beverages on draft and in bottle! Good food at a great value! Hard to beat; especially in a bowling alley, which is very nice as well. I am an eater more than a bowler if you haven't guessed. Enjoy!
Such a Great Place to go hangout, have some drinks and get a food coma from the Restaurant.. Food Prices were Great, Bowling per games are even Better.. Atmosphere was very energetic, Kids havin a blast and price per game was amazing.. The perfect place for Everyone in the Family
It has been closed for nearly a year. Please remove it from the listings. It was a wonderful place for families, but they decided to close it to cut costs while ensuring the golf course remained well-maintained.

The café serves delicious meals with impressive portion sizes and a fantastic variety of dishes on the menu. You shouldn't miss the fish and chips on Fridays! It’s definitely worth a visit!
Hidden gem!! Kids bowl free in the summer! Clean and updated! Service has improved considerably since our last visit! Very pleasant and affordable experience!!
