I always have sympathy for the staff at this restaurant, as it seems like a challenging job dealing with lots of kids and demanding parents. I can't imagine they're paid very well. The food here is decent overall, although it didn't impress me on this visit. The wait for food was quite long, especially with children. While we understand the saying that food arrives when it's ready, it was frustrating to see one child wait about 15 minutes after the other received their meal, especially when both orders were placed at the same time. We went for lunch. There was a short wait to be seated in the functional, modern restaurant. My partner was delighted to be offered a separate vegetarian/vegan menu. My partner had a vegetable and tofu katsu curry which he enjoyed even more after spicing it up with some of the condiments placed on each table. I had a ramen bowl with chili prawns and kimchi, also very nice. There was a good amount of plump prawns and the spice level was fine. A bit more kimchi would have been nice though. This is the worst run Wagamama I have ever known, it's so consistently bad that it beggars belief. My kids love the food so we attempt to go there every time we go to the cinema next door and this time the place was at 25% capacity but there were 20 people waiting to be sat at the dozens of empty tables. In the 10 minutes we waited the staff didn't even acknowledge our existence, the people waiting in front of us told us they'd been standing there for half an hour so we immediately left. Whichever branch you go to, Wagamama always serves great food. But the quality of staff varies a lot. The Chaplin Sq/ FInchley is particularly bad because staff are so slow to tidy up tables when diners leave. So... when you enter you're often surrounded by several tables with dirty cutlery, half eaten food and stuff spilled on the table. Really gross. I pointed this out to a member of staff who shrugged me off like a moody teenager would and we could see her clearly pointing towards us and discussing with other staff what I'd said. Staff were friendly and the chilli squid was amazing however we ordered the cod ramen and it tasted like hot water. The most bland food I've ever tasted, no seasoning whatsoever and the cod was overcooked and stuck to the skin. The staff were very understanding and helpful with the quality issue. After asking for a new bowl it came back smothered in chilli and the cod was still overcooked. The vegan chicken ramen was mediocre at best. Overall, really good service, amazing chilli squid but the rest wasn't good..
Tonight we visited Wagamama in North Finchley only to have the rudest waitress serve us. We were served by a young mixed race/African American girl who gave the impression that she hated being there, she was rude and was giving us an attitude. The girl was unfamiliar with the menu and was very unwilling to help. Absolutely ruined our evening. If I ever go to that Wagamama again I will specifically request another waitress/waiter. I wish I'd taken down her name so I could report her to her manager.
The management's behavior was atrocious. We waited 20 minutes for someone to even notice us standing there waiting to be seated. When we finally made eye contact with someone, they said it would be at least another half hour. It was clear they were overwhelmed. Instead of prioritizing seating, they focused on takeout orders. They ignored us and everybody else waiting at the door. It was a frustrating experience.
Honestly at this point just shut the place down. This is the worst run restaurant let alone Wagamama's I have ever come across. Rude staff Basically no management. And the food is terrible On my last outing here I saw a chef sneeze into his hands and continue to prepare food. I had to leave after watching that monstrosity.

Never again. Incompetent staff. Waited almost an hour as the waitress messed up our order and sent it to another table. I didn’t even hear an apology. No one checked on us. No one at all.
