Did they switch owners???? Came in at 8:20PM on a Wednesday they told me the kitchen will be closing. Ordered our food. They were already cleaning in the back so we ate with fumes of bleach. The food is absolutely not the way it used to be. Fried rice now has sesame oil? (I’m allergic and has always ordered from here) Chicken was not cooked at all the way they are known for. Chewy skin. If they switched owners or chefs this place is now a flop. We also had fried calamari which was good and the chicha morada. My friend had the special fried rice and the shrimps weren’t cleaned. Total waste! SKIP AND SAVE YOUR MONEY
We live in Jackson Heights and went here because of the New York Times review (though years old). The food service staff spoke no English, which we didn't mind we communicated somehow, but the food, oh the chicken and rice dish was so dry and tasteless, we had to keep asking for water refills. We were three people and still the restaurant added an mandatory 20% service tip, and a line on the bill for extra tips. We were shocked, but decided not to challenge it. We were happy just to get out. Never will we return, nor recommend this place.
Not one person speaks English in here. Difficult with relaying and comprehension of food allergens. I agree with a post below this place USED to be so good. They either changed their chef or owner. The chicken used to be so crisp. If I can give zero stars I would.The food was horrible. We came for lunch Please bring back the old chicken and sesame FREE fried rice.
OMG! This place is delicious!!!! I can’t wait to go back! We had lomo saltado, tallarín verde, chicken, anticuchos and chaufa! I mostly loved their aji verde! I swear it was delicious! We also ordered classic ceviche and my whole family loved it but it was a bit sour for me… overall it was amazing food! Service was good! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Caveat, I only had their ceviche and it was excellent. It was a quick work lunch, but wished I could sample some more of the menu. Coming from a first gen Peruvian family with amazing cooks, including my Tia Teresa whose speciality was ceviche, this one from Warique was fresh and on point.
The food was good, but the service is why I come back. I've been to both locations and the staff is very friendly and the dine-in area is very nice.Parking: This location is on a busy road so parking can be difficult to find.
The Pollo chicken is consistently well marinated, flavorful, juicy, and always hits the spot. I've tried chicken from other popular restaurants in the area, but nothing compares. Their green sauce is also delicious.
6/21/23 7pm food was delicious as always but service was awful. Waiter did not offer drinks. They did not clean table after entry. And 20% service was automatically charge at the end. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Cute, small restaurant with larger ambitions. Fresh, well-prepared food, prompt expert service, comfortable surroundings. Can recommend and would return!
