Wassail wine bar is part of the busy Prospect Road strip. Inside it’s shopfront section there are tables and chairs and a small space to dance. The live music on both occasions we have been has been excellent. Up a set of stairs to the...bar, you will find an excellent selection of wines and other beverages. There is a good but limited menu if you fancy a snack or something more filling, I can personally vouch for the burger. The bar area leads into another larger room where I have attended a private function. The walls are adorned with antique mirrors and a fabulous cherub light fitting. Via Social Media advertising, visited Wassails to listen to live music. Venue was quaint however no access for disability noted for entrance, bar or bathroom! Tisk, Tisk! Front room grossly overcrowded listening to band, children jumping about like a playground to the music encouraged...by their parents! Also, limited seating is for mature adults first not children. Staff seem oblivious! Unnecessary oversized dining tables further restricting public area; only bar on mezzanine upper floor. Occupation Health risks for patrons TOTALLY unacceptable. We visited on a Thursday night and were charmed by the little band of rainbow people singing familiar Irish (and other) tunes, accompanying themselves on guitars, a tin flute and brush drum. There is a good wine choice and moderately priced (House wine is the staff (and some of the regulars) helped us select great ones. The tasting platter and cheese platter went down well we missed dinner). We had such a fabulous time, we revisited on Saturday night, when we grooved to semi-oldies a la the vibrant guitar and smooth tones of Brian Dodderidge. Nice place to stop and grab a drink, platters were nice and did the job for a light snack with a glass of red. Went on a Sunday, promise of live music and atmosphere. Didn’t disappoint! Music can be eclectic and you need to have...an open mind as the crowd seems to be made up of enthusiastic regulars, as there was plenty of patron participation! The place has a great feel, it’s like a rabbit warren with rooms that branch off rooms (outdoor area is rustic but secluded). The mirror room and the ducks are a quaint touch. Great little wine bar for a Sunday afternoon mix and mingle. Ok music (Eric the Yes Men) especially good, OK wines food. Gets a little crowded however creates a great atmosphere. Well worth checking out.
I live in the area. Was reading through and looking for somewhere to take some friends. After reading the entire selection of reviews, I have decided to go to another restaurant don't want to risk it!
Decent wine list. Ordinary food and service. The staff got into a loud argument with a customer. As a result there was an exchange of fists. Never returning.

I loved being able to choose a glass of wine from a list that supported local businesses. Nice vibe, friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
