Our waiter suggested we try the chicken cordon bleu. We did! I would now recommend this as a MUST EAT while visiting Styria! It was simply amazing! We loved it and have talked about it so many times since we have eaten it. In addition,...the wines were excellent! We tasted a number of them and all were very good. Our waiter had an excellent understanding of wines and we learned something from his explanations. All the food and wine we had we’re excellent- as was the service as well as the ambience. Maitz is great!
after a few hours of hiking and a long drive from western Kärnten our hosts in a nearby hotel reserved a table at Maitz for dinner, for our international group of friends. We have been hungry, and tired, and dressed for hiking not really...suitable for this surprisingly modern and refined restaurant; newertheless the staff was very friendly to us, and helped to decide about the food and wine. Fried chicken (half per person has been delicious as well as filling, and really liked the local Moscatell.
Das Ambiente… mit Blick auf die Weinberge der Weinstraße, hoch oben… Das Essen… eine Vielzahl von Gerichten für jeden Geschmack… exquisit… (besonders das Filet) Der Wein… dies ist ein Weingut, daher gibt es nichts hinzuzufügen außer zu genießen. Der Service… mega freundlich. Informative mit dem Wein… Der Preis… sehr fair. Ein Nachteil… es ist oft voll (reservieren) oder sonntags und montags geschlossen.
Das Restaurant ist sehr gut gelegen, mit Blick auf die Hügel voller Weinberge. Es verfügt über eine sehr schöne Terrasse. Das Essen war sehr gut, ausgezeichneter Service und guter Wein. Es ist ein Restaurant, in dem es sich lohnt, Mittag- und Abendessen zu genießen. Ich empfehle diesen Ort.

Loved this place nestling in the Styrian countryside... it's lovely! Great food, wine and the staff were very hospitable! Bedroom was very comfortable ...perfect!
