I recently spent a week at the Prestige Resort in Sooke for a medical conference with my wife. Though I spent some time exploring the local area, I often found myself continuing to come back to the West Coast Grill time and time again. I tried almost everything on the menu and was definitely not disappointed... but the thing that kept me coming back was the tremendous customer service. The staff really goes out the way to ensure you are comfortable and even help you get familiar with all of the great sights and "things to do" in the local area. West Coast Grill delivers yet once again. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with genuinely friendly staff along with the bright beautiful atmosphere. We were greeted by our server Karen she escorted us to our table which was set up beautifully, it was a belated 60th birthday celebration. The buffet was amazing, we actually went for a second plate, which is something I never do. We were treated like royalty. Two of us had dinner at The West Coast Grill on August 10th. We hadn't made a reservation so we had to sit at the bar, which was fine. It's a lovely bar. We both ordered the 10 oz. Steak with fingerling potatoes and veggies. I had red wine, a nice Shiraz. The atmosphere is nice and the view is likely stunning however we didn't have much of view from our location. Staff were friendly and efficient. The meal however was standard. My medium-rare steak was so close to too well done but the char was admirable. Weve been living in sooke for the last three months. West coast grill is one of the two places we go for dinner and drinks. The food is next to none. Happy hour is our favorite time to go. We go at least once a week. The steamer pot and cheese dip are our favorite. Best seafood in town hands down. As often as possible we try to sit in Dans section. I know there are a couple. Hes the one with the tattoos. Ive never in my life had service from someone who takes such a passion not only in his level of service but his knowledge of the menu and drinks. This was my third visit. This time it was for lunch on Sunday. I was looking forward to lunch on the deck overlooking the docks. We were seated and then proceeded to wait and wait and wait. I don't know if all the staff were attending to the pig out trough or not but this was stupid silly. There were 4 staff who passed by the table but no acknowledgement or attempt to initialize service. It was only when we got up to leave that some showed up. Way too late. My friend reminded me this was a pattern and the last time we were there, it was the same script. If you have 3 hours for a meal, choose this place or you can call in a delivery to your table. It would be faster.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch on the balcony with a wonderful view of the ocean and a small harbour . A nice way to spend a Saturday morning . I would definitely go back. The menu had a good selection of items to choose from and my wild mushroom omelet was extremely tasty.
Stopped by for lunch on a foggy Thursday with our two young children. Our meals were great and the service was wonderful. If we were here for a longer visit, would come back!

The Mac n' Cheese was just yummy and tasty. My wife had it with seafood and other goodies. The restaurant is located in the Prestige Hotel.
