I haven’t been to Southport since I was 12 and we stayed at Pontins! I am now 62! Today I went with my son and grandson. We arrived very early, sadly the pier was closed but we walked on the beach which was lovely. We then walked through the centre and luckily stumbled across the tea room. I just loved the whole place, the decor and the ethos was amazing. The furniture and the clock chiming reminding me of my grandparents home as a child. I loved the music too. The staff were so friendly and so professional. My grandson was fascinated by their delightful manners and it was so lovely because I am constantly trying to remind him of the importance of manners. This traditional tea room offers so much more than a cup of tea! We had lunch there and the food was excellent. Whilst not the cheapest, I’d rather have quality ingredients any day. The tea was a mix of leaves that they have put together which was delicious and the large pot gave me 5 cups, and the hot chocolate was not your usual machine generated type. Everything is freshly produced, so if you’re looking for fast food, then this is not the place for you, with food being cooked to order, you have to wait a little longer. We were absolutely delighted with our decision to dine here! Our experience during lunch was nothing short of wonderful. I must admit, I initially had reservations due to the extensive array of options presented on the menu. It's often been my experience that an overwhelming selection leads to poor offerings. However, I am pleased to confess that my apprehensions were entirely unfounded! The soup we indulged in was truly exceptional. Wholeheartedly endorse this establishment to anyone seeking a delightful dining experience. Our afternoon was graced with such warmth and satisfaction!
We wandered along Lord street and came upon this amazing building. we read the menu posted outside and decided to go in for lunch. What an amazing sight. Beautifully set out spotlessly clean table expertly set out, chandeliers and an ambience to die for. Expert staff and stunning atmosphere. It was like bohemian and then the food came. Having visited the tea rooms on a number of occasions I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and service today. I felt the food had not been prepared by a qualified chef and during our meal we did not get the usual courtesy ask if everything was ok. We waited too long for the table to be cleared and never asked do we need any more drinks. Very disappointing given how much we had enjoyed the tea rooms previously.
First trip to Southport from Hampshire. Think I may have gone to heaven. Step back in time, authentic building, decor, music, proper tea (no tea bags in sight) even the staff look the part. Tea was delicious and served in vintage pieces to add to the authenticity of the experience. I am a little bit in love with Southport. Thank you Westminster tea rooms
as thrilled to find this gem of a spot with an extensive GF menu! The atmosphere is so cute and the staff are amazing. Best GF scones I’ve ever had. Hoping to make another stop before we leave town.
Had tea and scones, wow gluten free amazing, butter, jam and cream, tea wow very tasty, will be back for afternoon tea, waiter and waitress lovely dressed, tea pots and cutlery

Lovely tearoom, fabulous chice of freshly prepared food and friendly staff. I have.no hesitation in recommending. Looking forward to my.next visit already!
The cream teas are amazing! Staff are brilliant and the setting is like something from Poirot! Highly recommended!
