Overall upscale vibe with quality food, live music after 9pm means anyone looking for a quiet evening should come earlier for dinner considering the size of the restaurant vs music and amount of people. Drinks cost within reason and are made strong, definitely among the best bars in Martinsville. Depending on the night service may be spotty but everyone is quick to assist if you ask. Gratuity isn't included but they do print suggestions on the receipt so calculations are one less thing to worry about after a meal. Basically a hidden gem tucked behind a nearly abandoned mall which gives reason to visit the Brookdale side of the city.
The menu is compact, but this actually helps the kitchen operate more efficiently while still offering a wide variety of options. Like many service industries, there can be a bit of a learning curve with the staff, but everyone we observed put in a lot of effort. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and the food was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous too. I was thrilled to discover a place that offers unique, delicious dishes. I genuinely hope this restaurant thrives. (We tried the bacon fries, New Orleans pasta, and Parmesan chicken.)
The prices at this restaurant are quite reasonable. However, I wasn't impressed with the food. I ordered grilled vegetables, but they were not grilled at all and were instead drenched in excess fat, making them inedible. The French onion soup was also lacking in quality. On a positive note, the service was satisfactory, rating a 5 out of 10, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing overall.
The food quality was good, and the service was attentive. However, the prices were a bit higher than anticipated. Some tables weren’t fully cleaned, and the exterior of the restaurant didn’t display the name clearly. Overall, it’s a decent restaurant, but nothing particularly remarkable. My friend and I were asked to leave because of the dress code, and on another occasion, the staff called the police on us for being drunk while sitting at the bar.
Good food and prices. Similar to Chili's or Applebees, but no chain. Love the unique restaurants.
