We were here for a girl's catch-up with high expectations as a few of our friends had raved about the views and the food. We were fully prepared to be disappointed, but ...everything exceeded our expectations.The views on a sultry autumn night were spectacular, the service impeccable and the food...we're already planning a return visit to try the other menu items. Superb Food, Superb Service, Superb Setting. Could go on and on about how fab this cafe/restaurant is; a group booking was made for Sunday lunch based on viewing the menu on the net for Sunday Lunch. We were warmly welcomed and attended to promptly; along with set sunday lunch menu there is also specials as well and there is something for everyone from the fancy palates to plain palates plus people with intolerances and all in our group were supa happy with their choices even the gluten/lactose intolerants.. I had booked and organised a special dessert. We had a reservation for the cafe and as it was my husband's birthday I had pre organised to have dessert for two from the restaurant menu which I told was not a problem and they offered we will write a message on the plate which was nice. On night the service was fantastic we tipped the lady. But the main courses were a bit average the kangaroo had a very strong herb taste which was overpowering and the tart was bland and very salty that I was not able to finish. They charge extra for sides but over cook the green vegetables. Then comes to dessert and she offers for us to see the menu so I had to walk up speak with her and she knew nothing about...
A very nice team who made us feel welcome. The meals were delicious. We did, however, feel that we were rushed. After settling in we were enjoying our pre-dinner drinks and bread and olives (which were sensational), as well as enjoying the views, our entrees were served. All this happened within about 15 minutes! After finishing these courses, the mains arrived about 15 minutes later. Fortunately the food was absolutely delicious. Went here for dinner with three business colleagues. The menu is not extensive but is varied and provides a good choice. The food was well prepared and presented and the service pleasant and prompt. The view stretches from south of Glenelg to north of the CBD and is quite spectacular as the lights start to come on at dusk. Worth the visit just for that. For wines - try the Mollydooker nitrogen infused Shiraz. Ask to try it as it arrives and then again after the waiter has shaken the bottle to release the nitrogen.
My wife and I visited the cafe for dinner. I had the lamb rump and my wife had the beef fillet, both were excellent. The service was also outstanding, friendly and helpful in every way. The view over looking the city is a beautiful bonus.
A really great place to have a decent dinner with nice one and unparalleled great service. Really does leave you questioning why you would go upstairs to the even fancier restaurant when views, food and service is so good in the cafe !!
The service was great, very friendly even when it was very busy. The coffee was a tad bitter but everything was very responsibly priced. If we would have had a bit more time, we would've loved to try the lunch menu - looked delicious! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
