Visiting Garden City 8 Street food market for a quick lunch. After my order at Very Thai, Mrs Tomcat decided to join me. She felt under the weather that day and wanted something soupy. With that in mind, I made a stop at Won Ton Ton. The Chinese take away shop has been renounced for their generous free tastings, dumplings and steam bun varieties. Mrs Tomcat's go to meal is the wonton combination with two pork steam buns. The food was ready with 10min. The big bowl of wonton soup contains minced pork wontons, cloud ear fungus, Chinese veggies and fish cake all in a white broth. The wontons were perfectly cooked but the pork and dried shrimp fillings were overly salty and on the boring side....

Garden City express lunch and we selected 8 Street food market. The Asian night market influenced "eat street" houses an array of Asian takeaway food stalls each specializing in something different. After a quick stroll, I stopped in front of Very Thai. The small takeaway shop front displayed menu items on large sign boards with pad thai and stir fries being the most popular. I ordered a chicken pad thai set with deep fried chicken wings ($15.90 incl drink). After a 20min wait my order was ready. The deep fried three piece chicken wings were dressed with sweet chilli sauce. The wings were freshly fried but presents a boring taste and lacked seasoning. The pad thai contains sliced chicken, d...

I was catching up with some friends over lunch today and we decided to meet at Eight Street. We arrived before 12pm and there were a few vacant tables around. I wanted something soupy and hot so I opted for a wonton noodle soup. My friends ordered a Thai style Hainan Chicken rice and a Japanese Okonomiyaki which they said were big serves and delicious. I will only review my meal from Won Ton Ton. The young lady taking orders was friendly and helpful with my enquiries. The won ton soup noodles cost $10.80. The soup was plain, acceptable but without much flavoursome goodness. The 8 wontons were good but I found the won ton skin too thick. I quite enjoyed the tiny serve of chewy egg noodles....

This time we just wanted a light meal so we ordered half dozen pan fried dumplings, salt pepper prawns and shantung crispy chicken. All of them was delicious. Dumpling was cooked to perfection, prawns also perfectly cooked and well seasoned and as for chicken, inside meat was tender and crispy outside.

I love the wonton in this place really well. Really authentic and tasteful. The service here is really nice, and the price is understandable and acceptable. I wanna try some other food in the place next time! Really good place to have my favourite wonton. Really enjoyable. Awesome!

Ordered the pad see ew prawns, it doesn't have the fragrance that Thai food should have, all I could taste was was saltiness from the dark soy sauce, and it's way overpriced, $15.9 at a food court!?
